Delete your LockInPoint account

This page works without signing in, because somebody locked out of an account still has the right to ask for it to be removed. The app and the footer of every page on this site both have a row that opens it. Nothing on this page deletes an account by itself · the request goes to support by email and a person carries it out. Below is what to send, what the deletion takes with it, and what has to stay.

Last updated 13 September 2026.

How to ask

Send one email to info@lockinpoint.com with the subject line Delete my LockInPoint account. Write from the address on the account if you still have it.

Put these in the message, as many as you can reach:

  • The email address the account was opened with.
  • Your username.
  • Your Product Key — the code beginning LIP- on your profile page — if you can still sign in.
  • The phone number on the account.
  • A payment reference, if you ever paid. Every one is listed at My receipts.

You do not need your password and you should not send it · it is not how support identifies an account.

Write the deletion email

What happens after you send it

Support matches what you sent against the account. Deletion is then carried out by hand from the admin desk, and the desk refuses to run it until the account's own username or email address has been typed back exactly as it is written — a confirmation dialogue is one thumb away from gone, and this is not.

There is no queue and no countdown. Nothing is scheduled, so there is no waiting period to rely on: if you change your mind, email again straight away and say so, and if the deletion has not yet been carried out it simply is not carried out. Once it has run, there is no undo: no page and no admin action puts the account back.

No turnaround time is promised here.

What deletion removes

Your sign-in is removed and the profile goes with it. The database then removes everything keyed to that profile in the same operation:

  • Every practice and CBT attempt, with the answers you gave, the scores and the time taken.
  • Saved questions and anything you marked for revision.
  • Your Lumi conversations and everything Lumi had remembered about you.
  • The record of the devices the account has signed in from, including the truncated addresses kept for new-device checks.
  • Your study plan and your progress through notes, videos and files.
  • Your referral credits, and any withdrawal request with the bank details you entered on it.
  • Pending bank-transfer notices and any unused email verification codes.
  • Guardian links, so a parent, teacher or school following you stops seeing anything at all.
  • Your Climb games and any competition placing recorded against the account.

You also disappear from the leaderboard. The board is worked out from accounts that exist and from attempts that exist, so with both gone there is nothing left of you to rank.

This is one account across every surface. The same sign-in opens the website and the Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux apps, so removing it removes access on all of them at once. Uninstalling an app on its own deletes nothing.

What is kept, and why

A few records outlive the account. Where one carries a link to your account, that link is cleared; the record itself stays, for the reason given.

Payment records

A payment has to survive for accounting. The row keeps the name and the email address the payment was made under, because a payment nobody can match to a payer is not a record of anything. What it no longer carries is a link to a live account.

Questions you sent to the Question Harvest

A submission stays, without your name on it, and so does the approve-or-reject decision a tutor made on it. If a tutor has since added that question to a school's Post UTME bank, it is a separate row in the question bank with no link to any account, and it stays there.

Questions you reported

A question you flagged as wrong stays flagged, with your account removed from it. Withdrawing the report would put the mistake back in front of the next student.

Admin activity lines

The activity log keeps the display name as it was written at the time, with the link to your account cleared. That is deliberate: a line recording that a key was redeemed has to keep saying so after the name on the account changes, and after the account is gone.

Messages in study groups

Messages posted in a LockInPoint group are not tied to the profile by the database, so they are not swept up with it. Say in the same email if you want them taken down, and say which group.

A bank-transfer screenshot you uploaded

The transfer notice goes with your account. The image does not: it is a stored file rather than a row, so the deletion does not reach it. Nothing serves it to the public any more — an admin opens it through a link that expires after sixty seconds — but a screenshot uploaded before that change still sits at its old public address. Ask for it in the same message and it can be removed by hand.

If you want less than deletion

Deletion is permanent and takes your whole history with it. Some of the reasons people ask for it have a smaller answer.

  • Somebody else got into your account. Reset your password · the code goes to your own email, and signing in on your own device signs every other one out.
  • You want a guardian to stop following you. A guardian removes a candidate from their own portal. If you cannot reach yours, email support with your Product Key and say which guardian.
  • You paid and want the money back. That is a separate request with a separate answer · read the refund position before you write.
  • You cannot get in at all. Contact support lists every channel and what to include in the message.
